On August 6, 2025, during the inauguration ceremony in the Polish Sejm, the new President of Poland – Karol Nawrocki – delivered his first speech as Head of State. In his address to citizens, parliament, and government representatives, he announced the launch of large-scale investment projects of key importance for the country’s development.
The main announced initiatives include:
accelerating the implementation of strategic infrastructure investments, including the construction of new railway lines and bypass roads,
supporting the energy transition, particularly the development of renewable energy sources (RES) and the modernization of power transmission networks,
digitization of public services and improvement of administrative efficiency,
expansion of social infrastructure – schools, hospitals, and housing.
The new President of Poland devoted special attention to the Central Communication Port (CCP) project. He declared that in the coming days, presidential draft laws to resume the investment in its original form would be submitted to the Sejm.
The CCP airport is planned to become a major transit hub for passengers traveling between Europe, Asia, and North Africa. It is also intended to take over the functions of Chopin Airport in Warsaw, which is reaching its capacity limits.
Transit hub airport:
Target capacity: over 40 million passengers annually (expandable to 65 million)
Terminal area: approx. 400,000 m²
Number of runways: 2 (eventually 4)
Launch of the first phase: planned for 2032
Estimated cost of airport construction (Phase I): approx. PLN 35–40 billion
However, CCP is not only an airport — it forms the foundation of a new transport system for Poland.
As part of the project, over 2,000 km of new railway lines will be built.
A multimodal railway terminal with direct connection to the airport terminal will be constructed within the CCP area.
The investor and coordinator of the project is CPK Sp. z o.o., a company 100% owned by the State Treasury. It operates under the supervision of the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy.
